Lion's Arch?
Now, there are a good number of different things that can be debated as far as Chapter 2's connectivity with Chapter 1 is concerned, but my biggest issue with all of this is the fact that players who purchase and enjoy Chapter 2, then go on to purchase Chapter 1 for play with a character that they completed Chapter 2 with will end up taking the boat to Lion's Arch. Lion's Arch?
Look at it this way:
The Battle Ilses are your home. The only part of Guild Wars you've ever enjoyed is PVP. You've PVPed for quite some time now and are finally considering trying out some PVE. You take your level 20 PVP character with all the skills and all of that stuff and take the boat over to... Lion's Arch? How could you even follow the story? You'd have to get a damn run to Ascalon.
That's obviously not possible, nor will it ever be, but it serves as a good example, I hope. However, this doesn't even fully demonstrate the problem players from Chapter 2 will encounter. Without anyone to tell them differently, when they show up at Lions Arch on their 1337 status Assassin, what's to say they won't wander outside and do the Gates of Kryta or D'Alleslio Seaboard missions? Not only with they not have any f'ing idea what they're doing, they also will be throwing the level balance off horribly. Gates of Kryta D1 will be full of "Level 20 Assassin LFG!" and "Level 14 Warrior LFG!".
Now, for me and most players reading this, that won't ever have any bearing on their gameplay... but look at it in the reverse. The day I tear Factions out of its shiny box and install it on my computer, where in Cantha is Sha Noran going to pop out? If I show up at a Lion's Arch equivalent, what the hell am I supposed to do about it? ANet needs to come up with a good way (BETTER way, I should say) to usher people between continents.
